Game of Her Own

Jan 21, 2021

Is there something missing in your career? How are you going to handle it?

Jen Wolf, Life Skills Coordinator for the Cleveland Indians, noticed that a certain level of support was missing from her career, so she went out and created it herself. A woman after my own heart.

Listen in as Jen, who by the way was my intern at the Red Sox, tells you all about her incredible journey in and out of the baseball operations!

Listen in as Jen and I talk about:

-How she serves the players while maintaining her authenticity

-How she stepped up and made a call that led to her first job in sports

-Why she believes you should view interviewing as a two-sided process

-What she does to make sure she clearly understands the value she brings to her organization

-How she made the difficult decision to leave sports

-What happens when you bet on yourself

-The biggest thing about the winter meetings that you need to know

Don’t forget that in January, all the episodes are dedicated to women who work directly with the players!

Jennifer Wolf is finishing up her second season with the Cleveland Indians as their Life Skills coordinator. In her role, Jen works with the Minor League players as their transition to professional baseball. This includes adjusting to the US, housing, banking/finances, and more. As she is bilingual, she is able to support every player in the system as they progress on and off the field. Prior to joining Cleveland, Jen spent 7 seasons with the New York Mets as the Coordinator of Minor League and International Operations. In that capacity, she managed all of the administration for the player development and international scouting system. She also spent time with Major League Baseball in International Baseball Operations, both in New York and in the Dominican Republic. Jen, a 2009 graduate of Georgetown University where she studied management, marketing and Spanish, started her career with the Boston Red Sox in 2005, and also had internships with ESPN, Georgetown Athletics (Sports Info Department), and the Washington Nationals.
