Game of Her Own

Jan 5, 2023

Her superpower is that she doesn’t get anxious. SAY WHAT?! Envy washed over me when I heard this, followed by curiosity...and we dive in!

Listen in to my conversation with Alexandria Price as we talk about:

  • How she got over imposter syndrome
  • Why she doesn’t get anxious
  • How to get coworkers to see you as more than your entry-level position
  • How two words got her to a salary she wanted
  • What you need to do when you’re in a negotiation

And you know there is so much more!

Alexandria Price joined the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation in May 2019 as their first, Director of Operations & Community Affairs. In this role, she manages the internship program, assists with event bid creation, event operations and community events specific to any major events awarded, as well as for the Sports Foundation and the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Alexandria relocated back to New Orleans from Houston, Texas where she was an Operations Manager for the Special Events Department with the Houston Astros Front Office. There, she worked on hundreds of special events, games, concerts, as well as overseeing 2017 & 2018 Postseason events.

Alexandria joined the 2016 NCAA Men’s Final Four® Houston Local Organizing Committee (HLOC) to serve as their Manager of Volunteers. During her time with the HLOC, she was able to recruit over 5,000 volunteers to assist with all NCAA shifts throughout the city. She initially got her start with the Sun Belt Conference as their Championships Coordinator in 2013 after interning for the Sports Foundation in 2012-2013 for Super Bowl XLVII & 2013 NCAA Women’s Final Four®.

Prior to the pandemic, Alexandria enjoyed traveling and trying out restaurants in the city, but now she is enrolled in an accelerated MBA Program. Now, most of her time outside of work is spent reading and researching, but when she does find some down time, she goes for a bike ride or picks up her skates and rolls out.
